I’m unemployed for 2 years as of 7-1-08. Only odd jobs and manual labor, under the table, etc. since then. I used to make 80,000 USD and now ZERO. I’m going fuckin’ crazy!!! Anyone else out there??? My credit is completely ruined and I’ve lost pretty much everything including unemployment. 38 years old. Life over? I know the U.S. and global economy IS.

After seeing this and looking at my own unemployment experiences, my final conclusions is this.
We are fools to turn anybody or any thing other than God fist then our selves for happiness or livelihood.

I know it can be shocking. I have very good qualifications in high level education and still here in Greece i cant find a job yet. I know people who lost their jobs in big engineering companies in the UK. it is estimated that the unemployment rate in Greece will reach 20% from 11.2% which is now. Thats what fucking IMF will cause . That Eurozone too is useless. Its going to collapse soon or later. Dont vote for anyone next time. Its part of the enslavement of people to banks.
My friend I am in the UK and lost my job with a building supply company when the recession first hit. I then gained another job after that with a Tool Supply company (after 6 months of searching), but was paid off from that after 9 months due to cutbacks.
I now find myself in a position where I have good work history, good references but I still do not hear back from any employers.
It is a horrible situation and I am experiencing the same feelings as you are at this moment in time. I feel you
@biped19 A friend of mines mother works in HR for a pretty sized company and said when she would review online applications, which could be so overwhelming, that on Mondays she would only take ten a day and review. Rather shrewd I thought. Theres an option to select applicants and put them on an automated response from the company to the likes of “after careful consideration blah blah blah. Now how fucked is that?

why is it that I have endless opportunities and he doesn’t? I find myself turning down unemployment all the time because I can’t keep up with all of the work. Even in the heart of the economy my ex-girlfriend quit her job and found a new one 2 days later. I just don’t understand why he says he is looking for a job but can’t find one.

OK, Family meeting folks, need to cut cost, for starters bare bone essentials only, canceling all insurance policies (frauds anyway) walk away from credit cards (Fico: huge fraud), walk and bye bye underwater mortgage. I’ve never been in the position these two are, but it’s gotta be the worst. You’ve worked hard. You want to work, but, through no fault of your own, you’re out on the street. In the old America, the one that went belly-up in the 80s, you were taught to work hard and you’d reap the benefits. I wonder what the teachers are telling the kids now…Learn to speak Chinese?

there are on average 3 millions jobs lost in america each month, there are also about 3 million jobs created in america each month. you have 3 million chances to get a job. this is not a lottery, you are just being lazy, get off your high horses and don’t you dare point your finger at anyone else. the number you see in the news is just a net of the lost and added jobs. so +5000 jobs or some small number is just irrelevant

the millions of Americans who are unemployed can’t all be lazy, the very idea that people think that’s all there is to it shows how ignorant Americans are about economics, capitalism and it’s relation to job creation. just because you haver a sucky job doesn’t mean that everyone can get the same sucky job. I mean how many people is actually needed for commission sales, food sevice or janitors. and that’s deosn’t even include the fact that they do not pay enough to even stay afloat.

@fstwrtr Sir or madam, I have a college degree and a reasonable job and it involves physical labor. I am not, however, stupid enough to assume that just anyone can do this. Sure, there will be lazy folks, but there will also be people who actually cannot do the jobs you are describing, whether physical limitations or mental. What if people, on the other hand, don’t want as luxurious a life as you, should they be forced to work just as hard?
@acce245 it doesn’t take Inherent talent with physical traits, it takes someone willing to try something new, and think outside the box. you my friend are a perfect example of the “victim status” effect..
