When my husband and I first got married we racked up my credit cards. It’s now, 2 kids and 3 years later. We havent paid anything since 2004. I have about 30,000 on credit cards. More than we can pay. Will this just fall of my credit, the money owed? or just the negative comments? I am debating on waiting and not paying or filing bankruptcy. Basicalymy only options. Does anyone knowhow this works? or know the rules on this?

Due to a family tragedy, my husband and I are currently in ,000 of credit card debt. All of the payments are current and the cards are paid on time with the accounts still open (we are not still charging, though). We are looking to seriously pay this down before the interest eats us alive. My husband wants to take out a bank loan and pay the cards off that way, but I am wondering about the debt consolidation programs you hear about (I know some of those are scams and some are real). Any advice or experience?

I have a friend in FL that is filing bankruptcy. I thought they passes a law a few years ago that stated you could not include credit card debt in bk. Is that true? They are telling me that you can include credit card debt.

im about 25k in credit card debt from school and a bunch of family and personal things and there are about a thousand commercials or websites claiming to get you out of debt but i have a pretty good idea they will all ruin my credit and any chance i have at buying a house in the future. if anyone has a suggestion or a tip for what they have done in the past that will hurt my credit score the least i will be grateful. thanks

Does anyone know how good is Consumer Credit Counseling Service??? I have a credit card debt of 10000 so I called them and they told me, they will charge me 35 usd one time fee, after that they will settle a low interest rate and low monthly payments for me and they will charge me 7.5% of the monthly payment being sent to my debtors until everything is paid off.. Does anyone know how good is Consumer Credit Counseling Service??? any opinions out there???..I need help since my cards are already 8 months past due..

my credit card debt is making it hard to pay regular monthly expenses and we have to choose between groceries or the credit card bills.

My wife and I are really struggling with our credit card debt and
two car payments. We are falling behind further and further. One of our friends suggested that we go to a debt counselor to try to lower our monthly payments and combine some of our bills. Where do I find a local debt settlement counselor in my area?

I have thus far successfully negotiated and settled debt at no more than 40 cents on the dollar with 3 of my 8 creditors. However I am worried about the wording used by my creditors to report my settled accounts to the credit bureaus. Comments like "settled for less than amount owed". How long does it take for these derogitory comments to drop off my credit report? Someone suggested continually write letters to the credit bureaus. He said they have like 30 days to respond to my letters. If they don’t respond within 30 days, then I can have derrogitory removed. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT. Does that make sense to anyone? Thanks

I have a substantial amount of money in my retirement plan and pension. Is there any way to use that money to payoff my current credit card debt, student loans, or car loans without being hit with the huge early withdrawal penalty?

I owe a large amount on my credit card and have not made a payment in sometime. I now have a lump sum of money and wanted to see if the cc company would negotiate on the amount owed. Much of that amount is late fees. Can anyone help me?

I have two student credit cards, both from citi one for 00 and the other for 00. They are both nearing their credit limits and i was late twice on payments so both of my interest rates are at 32%. ive tried to talk to citi about lowering my rate and transfering my balance but they say i cant at this time. i can keep up with the minimum payments for now but not much more and with each month my interest rates keep bringing me closer and closer to my credit limit which i do not want to go over. What do you suggest I do? Do you think i can try to go to a bank or different company and transfer my balances. i would think they could tranfer the balances to a 00 card with a lower rate. im not a homeowner either. and not yet 21. so other loans are not an option to pay them off… HELP!!!!
