Question by Ari’s Mom: HELP!I need financial advice, I’ve become addicted to taking cash advances from my bank & can’t stop?
My bank lets me take cash advances because I have a direct deposit with them from my job. I’ve become so reliant on it because every paycheck goes to paying off the cash advance and then I have to take out another advance to pay my bills. How do I get out of this mess?

You have to stop someX. The more you do this, you are getting deeper & deeper in the hole. I watched an episode of Singeltary Says where she addessed this very issue.

Question by Mr.C: Should I take out a line of credit to buy a home or do a cash back mortgage?
I’m already pre-approved for the purchase of a home. I’m not sure which way is better – to use a line of credit to pay for my down payment OR take out a cash back mortgage. Making payments is not an issue. My debt ratio with a 0000.00 mortgage is only at 27%. Ability to have down payment was severely hindered by a recent divorce.

If you use a line of credit as your down payment, you can kiss your mortgage approval goodbye.

You aren’t supposed to *borrow* money for your down payment..You either have to have that money saved up or gifted to you.

Due to medical expenses we have fallen behind on bills, rent, utilities etc. My credit score is not very good because of these recent problems. I have been trying to get a payday loan. Friends have reccomended a few websites. Each one I go to says they will match me with a lender. I did check into cash loan by phone I was able to email all my information to them and I had my loan with in 2 days. It was really convient.. Becareful one cash advance sold my information to many companies and they all went into my account.

There are a number of rules for exempting interest on savings bonds cashed to pay tuition – so many that it’s very unlikely that you would be able to – among other things, it’s for current expenses, not for paying off student loans. Check the rules carefully before you even consider this, since it’s pretty unlikely to work for you. It’s not as simple as “I used the money to pay tuition so I don’t have to pay tax on the interest”.

That amount is so minimal it shouldn’t affect your ability to qualify for a loan. You can get it included, if you have bank statements showing the deposits- but it all depends on the loan type, the mortage company involved and your credit rating.

You may actually find it easier to refinance online because you can get several quotes quickly and without having to go for appointments at a brick and mortar mortgage company. That isn’t to say that online loaners don’t also have a building somewhere. I believe you can refinance online with Lending Tree and a few other companies.
